Pyrography has been around since the dawn of history.  Ancient mankind used hot and burning sticks to create designs on cave walls.  It has now evolved to the point that we have electric temperature controlled wood burners to allow us more versatility in our art.

Pyrography is done on wood, paper, tagua nuts (vegetable ivory), ivory, leather, gourds and many other natural substances.
